Irish MEP Brian Hayes is visiting Eritrea this week, where Irish Aid, Teagasc and Irish development partner Vita have forged a partnership that delivers next generation, knowledge- led programmes.
Life for women and families in Africa can be tough – usually through no fault of their own – as they battle against poverty, climate change and a life of drudgery and weighty responsibilities.
Vita has announced that Dermot Byrne has been appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Vita is an Irish charity that works with local communities to end hunger and climate change in the Horn of Africa. Dermot replaces Seamus Crosse, a former Director of Agricultural Research at Teagasc, whose term of office has ended.
